Buskin walked over to Patrick and his fallen comrade. His head hung low, and it wsn't until he stood over Connor that he let out sounds of anguish. He nudged Connor, trying to say goodbye as best he could. After a long pause, Buskin sat, then lay beside him, the sand that was slowly blowing overtop of him was now sheilded. Buskin's neck rose and turned to Patrick, as if saying "You know what has to be done." (sorry I wanted to add that)

As Patrick turned away from his deceased pal, Sahara met him with a hug. Even Jester came over to comfort him. Patrick returned the hug and turned to Jester, noticing for the first time just how bad his wound was. He put his hand gently on the wing and rose it up enough to see well. Patrick dug through one of his many coat pockets and pulled out a small vial. He fed it to Jester, whose disguisted face only made him feel worse, but they both knew it was important. Without that vial, Jester could get ganggreen and die, or atleast lose a wing. Now it was just up to the bird's natural healing process.
"We walk from here, until Jester heals up. It wont be too dangerous atleast. We should start moving again soon. It'll be getting late out, and we need to find a better place to rest. If we stay here out in the open, we'll freeze. But for now..." He turned back to his fallen comrade. "We have to take care of Connor. I'd like a propar burial for him... but we are in the middle of the desert, and I don't want animals digging him up." He bit his lip. It was painful to say it, but he knew it was true. "I think we should burn him. We may not be able to give him a propar burial, but we can still give him a propar good bye. Atleast then, nothing can ruin his body, and he'll belong to the desert."
Sahara nodded, agreeing. At first, she was worried about what they would use to burn him with, but she remembered that every big time warrior like Patrick doesn't leave the village without emergency supplies, like medicines, stuff to build fires with(except the wood..go figure), and others. They would be able to use the liquid fire that was new to the village. It says that with just one match it could light almost anything on fire, and keep it burning till it was nothing but ash. Her stomach churned just thinking about it.
Patrick looked over at the jintori sitting in the sand. "Inori, again, I can't thank you enough. You risked your life for total strangers. You saved my friend's... I don't know how I can repay you. I hope that you will stay with us, and in the village as well."
Sahara turned her head to the jintori. She wanted to be angry, but for some reason, she just wasn't the same person she once was. And besides, this jintori barely looked like a jintori. If it werent for her wings, and the glazed, yet strikingly beautiful pink eyes, she would look completly human. Even if she could manage to hate the stranger jintori, hearing that she had saved their lives, and Patrick's, made her feel very grateful.
But first thing was first. A propar good bye for a really great guy.

Inori parted her lips as if to speak, but closed them. She didn't like the atmosphere or the emotions on Patrick's face. She had lost people close to her, but she could see Patrick carried Connor's death heavily on his heart. Curious though respectful, Inori slowly walked over to Connor. Buskin watched her as she knealt down beside him. She touched his cold face. It looked like he was sleeping soundly, she had never seen a human so silent and peaceful. "I'm sorry I could not help you." She murmured softly as she stood up. Her wings slowly folded, Inori couldn't help but wince in pain still, but it was definatley improving. Her task still burned at the back of her mind. Could she bring pain to people by taking away lives? Inori turned her eyes to Patrick and Sahara. "Patrick, do you want me to..."

Patrick shook his head, fighting back the tears. He tried to remind himself that Connor was no longer in pain, that he was at peace now, probably living with the ones he had lost that were dear to him. But to lose a friend...it was a hard thing to get over. And even though Patrick knew that he was in a better place, he couldn't help but feel extremly sadened. "He was my friend. I'll... I'll do it."
Patrick pulled out a small canister. It was brown and slightly rusted, with a torn label wrapped around it that wrote, "DANGER: Liquid Fire. Do not get on skin or clothes." He closed his eyes, trying to swallow a large lump that seemed trapped in his throat. He reached for the sturdy cork lid, feeling it with his coarse fingers. An overwhelming feeling of dread washed over him, as if he felt like if he could just pick him up and carry him home, he would wake up, and would be fine. He was scared to burn him. If he was burned, there truly was no hope...
He felt a hand on his shoulder, and his eyes jolted open. "Patrick, just do it." Sahara was looking him sorrowfully in the eyes. "He's gone. There is nothing you can do about it." They were harsh and painful words, but Patrick knew they were true. He grabbed the cork lid on the canister, his hands shaking uncontrollably, and pulled on the lid. The entire canister slipped from his grip and fell into the sand.
Then he started to sob. He dropped to his knees, covering his eyes from the others. How pathetic he was! That he was too weak to lay his friend to rest! His entire body shook, and he realized that he was not yet ready to let Connor go. Not out there. Not out in the middle of the desert. Not without him seeing the rest of the world. The city wasn't ready for another dead warrior. They needed him. He needed him.
Patrick heard a cork snap open. He opened his redened eyes to see Sahara holding the canister of liquid fire over Connor's body. Patrick shook his head. 'NO!' He kept saying in his mind. 'No Don't! It isnt over! He can be spared!' But he could not make any words leave his lips. Trembling, he tried to stand and reach for the canister, but something held him back. Something large and feathery. "Jester..." He looked into the eyes of the sabbia. Then he understood... but that didnt mean he had to watch it.
Patrick turned his back as Sahara poured the highly flammable liquid over Connor's deceased body. Then Patrick heard the striking of a match, and the unmistakable sound of fire burning. He closed his eyes tightly, gripping his fists together tightly. A moment later, he felt the arms of Sahara around him, trying to comfort him. He tried to thank her, to let her know how grateful he was, but nothing could come out. The smell of burning flesh poisoned his nostrils, then he found himself breathing again, calming down. He wasn't sure if he was finally letting him go, or if he was simply running out of tears.
It was the longest forty minutes of his life.

Inori's eyes widened as Connor's body was lit ablaze. She took a few steps back so that she stood beside Sahara and Patrick. The wind picked up, and ashes of Connor's deteriorating body began to carry to the wind. She watched as the Sabbia that lay beside him had to stand away, he let out cries of sadness and outstreatched his wings.
Wolfgang's eye swept from Patrick to Connor. It was hard to lose a comrade, and Connor had definatley been a brave one. He sat down and crossed his legs, laying his weapon over his lap. He rested his elbows on the weapon in a prayer-like stance. It was a way to show thanks to the deceased in Taikai Ueki, and the guards there did this for fallen allies many times, it seemed almost natural to do so.

-1 hour later-
Patrick walked over to Jester and patted him down. His gloves were getting worn from all the work and fighting, but still they protected his hands. He felt sorry for Sahara, who had no gloves. She didn't seem to mind much. She even seemed used to it. And watching her stroke Strawberry's sharp feathers, Patrick was amazed at how far she had come.
"We had beeter start moving." Sahara noted. Patrick nodded, agreeing with her. "We'll have to walk... and hopefully we'll come across some Aguased Cacti." Sahara agreed with him completly. Aguased Cacti have saved lives of those who became lost in the desert. They aren't very common, but where one grows, many grow, and they are a perfect source of pure water. The aguased cacti collect all the rain water that fall near their roots, and soak up the minerals and bacteria, leaving pure, fresh water in it's cup-like buds. Patrick lifted his canteen. It was nearly empty, and he was already dying of thirst. Their only hope was either rain or the aguased cactus. Otherwise, their long journey was all for nothing.
Patrick tied the cushion to his bottom and jumped onto Jester's back. Even if they weren't flying, Sabbia were still faster than men when walking through the desert, especially because of their large talons. Sahara jumped on back of Strawberry. She had no reigns or gloves, but that didn't matter to her. It seemed that those two were inseperable now. Patrick was both excited and amazed at the transformation.
Patrick turned to Wolfgang and Inori. "We'll head out as soon as you are ready. The sooner we get to the border the better." "Patrick-" Sahara interupted. "I... I promised Wolfgang I would take him to Shifuto Aisu." Patrick turned to her in disbelief. She continued. "Look at what he has been through with us now. He's a friend now, there is no controlling that. And I'm not gonna turn my back on a friend."
Patrick stared at her, eyes wide. Finally, he smiled. "I'm proud of you Sahara." He nodded, looking to Wolfgang. "I'm coming too. " He took a deep breath. "That means Wolfgang... Buskin... he's yours now. Seems you've already mastered flight, and Buskin seems pretty warmed up to you. I think Connor would have wanted it that way." Sahara smiled. "Seems we are all going to Shifuto Aisu. It'll be one heck of a trip. That is, if Inori is willing to come too?"

Inori nodded hastefully. "Yes, please. I...I wanted to hopefully return with you to your village..." She shyly looked away, it was an odd request, but Patrick had definatley made her beleive that maybe... just maybe, she would one day be accepted there. She was happy with these warriors, more than she had ever been with the Sunahane. Though their kindness towards her would not be forgotten, she had to move onward.
Wolfgang also nodded. "Thank you. Though I can't say I've exactly mastered flight... Buskin will hopefully help me.." He grabbed his weapon off his lap and stood up in a fluid motion. He glanced quickly to Sahara. A friend. What a curious thought. He haddn't considered many people to be his friends before, but he supposed that if these people weren't his friends, no one was. Giving one last bow to Connor's last resting place, he strapped on his saddle. Buskin slowly made his way over.

"Great. And now we begin...er... continue our impossible journey. It may be a rough ride, but we'll make it. I know we will. Then we can bring back the information to the village, maybe even find a way to find peace with the jintori." Patrick looked over at Inori. "We would love for you to come back to the village with us." He smiled. "I just know they will except you. We'll be partners! You me and Sahara, and even Wolfgang while he is around..."
He gave one last glance to the charred desert ground. The wind picked up, and it blew the rest of the ash away. Then nothing was left. As if he never even exsisted. But he would never be forgotten.
"Patrick." Sahara jumped him back into reality. "Let's go." Patrick nodded, facing north. "Boy, Shifuto Aisu isn't going to like this." Patrick grinned. He almost liked the idea of sneaking them all inside the village, which was going to be alot easier with the sabbia.
"So we continue on our journey. Lets hope we make friends on the way. And lets keep out of way of our enemies, ok?" He sat proudly on the padded saddle and gripped the sabbia's reigns. The wind blew strongly through the bird's feather, and Jester let out a victory snort. "Erm..Lets ride."
It would have been a glorious moment. A strong, proud scene. If not for one thing...
They were walking.
((sorry, that was a really weird, lame post. We shall skip some time and I can continue the post! ))
- The next morning-
"Patrick, we can't keep going like this. We already had to fight the freezing desert night, but we are all out of water. " Patrick pulled back slightly on the reigns and Jester came to a stop. "Your right..." Just being in the heat had him out of breath. "We will... stop for rest here." He slid off Jester and into the sand. Jester quickly let himself fall into the sand as well, lying on his side to catch up on his rest. Patrick took out what little bit of water was left in his canteen and let Jester drink.
"Patrick, I can fly over with Strawberry and search for the aguased cacti. It'll be easier to spot them from the sky." Patrick nodded, suprised he hadnt thought of it himself. Sahara had given up most of her water to keep Strawberry hydrated, and so the bird had much more strength than the others. However, that meant that Sahara had very little water. And though Patrick was worried about her, he knew that they were the only chance they had.
Sahara didn't need any more commands. She grabbed hold of a few of Strawberry's feathers and gave her a slight nudge with her feet. "I'll be back with those cacti Patrick. I promise." Strawberry unfurled her wings and lifted into the sky and in moments, the two were out of sight.
Patrick admired Sahara's strength and bravery. He knew he could trust her promise. 'hurry back Sahara. For all of our sakes.'

As Sahara took off with Strawberry, Inori turned to Patrick. "Should I go with her? It might take a long time before she finds the aguased cacti, I could look in anther direction?" "She'll be fine" Wolfgang answered, she turned to him with a nervous expression, but it was enough of an answer to fall silent.
Wolfgang wasn't used to such a dry climate, and he could feel his body screaming out for water. He could only imagine how Buskin felt. He listened for the very last spalsh of water in his canteen. "Open up." He murmured, and Buskin finished the rest in an instant. Buskin had to use far more energy while he simply sat and watched the view, it was only fair. He heard high-pitched hissing, he grasped a temple in a small shock of pain. "Thirsty...thiiiirsty!" Wolfgang ignored it without another thought, and grabbed back onto his reigns. "Patrick. Do you know exactly where Shifuto Aisu may be? I know it is a drifting Country... but it must have some sort of path we could follow. A map, or something."

Patrick shrugged. "Honestly, I'm not sure. Shifuto Aisu is the most secret city out there. Nobody knows for sure, unless they are a highly respected member of Shifuto Aisu." He stopped and pondered the idea. "Though I have been out to the frozen sea... once. And I know the currents in the sea shift from time to time...usually depending on the seasons and the months. " He fell back and layed in the sand.
"But there is really no telling exactly where they could be... I guess we will have to fly over head... hopefully Jester will have healed by then." He shivered just thinking about the freezing sea. The last time he had been there, he nearly froze to death. Ofcourse, he was used to desert winter all his life. As soon as he began to fly over the ocean, the weather went from fairly hot to well below freezing. He wasnt sure how it was possible, but he did remember how it was murder.
"Anyway, Sahara knows more about Shifuto Aisu." Patrick lifted his head to look at Wolfgang. "She has been there, on the glacier." Patrick nodded. "Infact, she has family there. Though she doesn't expect any welcomes. Her family was one of the origonal clans from Yabun Dei, back when Shifuto Aisu and Shifuto Hiru were one large city. Last time Sahara was there, it was for her father's funeral. She almost didn't make it back. As soon as the funeral was over, they tried to kill her. How's that for family fued?"
Patrick thought about it. Sahara's parents were nice people. He had met them a few times, back when they were younger. Her father was origonally from Shifuto Aisu, and her mother from Shifuto Hiru. He was told that her father was there to visit his family members from Shifuto Hiru, something he secretly did every few years. While he was there, he had fallen in love. It made Patrick wonder. If those two could love each other, why couldn't everyone else? He shrugged to himself.
"Lets just hope Sahara makes it back with that water!"
-MEANWHILE-
"Come on Strawberry, I know its hot, but we've gotta find those cacti." The sabbia let out a pitiful screech, but continued flying. Sahara scanned the desert sands for the tiny cacti scattered cacti. She rubbed down Strawberry, encouraging her while they flew.
She knew the sun was starting to sink, but it felt like it was getting hotter and hotter. Finally, she spotted tiny clumps of green on a far away dune. Her eyes lit up. Finally she would be getting some water. Maybe they wouldn't die!

Wolfgang's eyes drifted to the sky, where Sahara had left. He was worried about the situation, if he would be accepted into the hospital, if they could even help him. He almost forgot where he was, until Buskin lay down while he was still on him. He jumped off of the Sabbia and patted his feathers with a kind expression. Wolfgang slowly sat in the sand, peaceful and silent for the moment. "Hn. I would'nt have guessed it by looking at her, it looks like she was made to be in the desert. Shifuto Hiru and Aisu have a dark history though, don't they.." His voice trailed off, deep in thought now.
Inori watched silently as Wolfgang and Patrick talked, she folded her wings in releif, and let herself rest in the sand. Her fingers made small sketches in the sand while her lips played a small smile. She was excited, for once. She was going to see Shifuto Aisu, and maybe beyond. Inori was indeed worried about what people would think of her, but she knew as long as Patrick and everyone was with her, no one's words would matter. Her eyes traced Patrick's face. Why was her own face burning? Confused, her placed both hands on her cheeks and turned away from both he and Wolfgang. "The sun is setting, sh-should we try and make camp while Sahara hunts for some cacti..?" She felt the red drain from her face, so she turned back to face the two men and their Sabbia.

Patrick bit his lip. "It'll be hard...out here. We still have a few hours before it gets really cold... If Sahara gets back soon, we should keep going, atleast until we come across something to hide out in. If not...well, I guess we will have to dig holes in the ground, atleast then we will be safe from the wind chill." He glanced around at the sky. 'Come on Sahara, don't fail us.'
He looked over at the other two. "Don't worry guys. We made it this far, i wont let anything happen to you." He closed his eyes and rubbed his temples. Sometimes, it sucked being leader.
*****
"There Strawberry!" Sahara's eyes lit up. That was, until they decended. The smile was quickly replaced by a frown.
Oh, they were aguased cacti alright, but they were all smashed and ripped apart. She glanced around at the field of destruction. Her hope faded away. "What...what happened here?" She leapt off Strawberry and landed sadly in the sand. She rummaged carefully through some of the plants, hoping that a few of them had left any sign of water, but there was nothing.
How could she have failed them? She knew that there was no way of finding another patch of the cacti needed in time. They usually grew miles apart. Even the sabbia seemed to be panting with hopelessness. "I'm sorry Strawberry... I just don't understand what happened here..."
**********
Patrick had been so exhausted from heat, he didn't hear the cloud of winged men flying towards them until they were nearly there. He looked up and reached about for a sword, then remembered that he had lost it to the sunahanes. He spread out his arms, giving up. "Get out of here you two... if you can... Those are Jintori..."
A moment later, the small swarm of jintori landed, looking about the weary travellers as if they were odd. "You guys alright?" one of the jintori asked. He was covered in jewelry and men's clothings, not like anything Patrick had ever seen on a Jintori.
"You three seems parched. Eh! Swayzlo! Bring these men some water. Bring some for the sabbia too. " His rusted brown hair seemed oddly brushed nicely, and a short scimitar hung from his torso. He glanced over the three in the sand, and his eyes landed on Inori. At first, he thought she was a regular human. But now that he looked at her, she was definately a jintoril.
"Bonzo, if we don't keep going, we'll be late." A smaller jintori noted, apparently the leader's assistant. Bonzo shook his head. "So what if we are late! It wouldnt be the first time!" He turned to the small group of jintori. "I have a better idea! Give them water, and we can take them back with us. It looks like they could all use some new supplies anyway." He noticed the injured wing on Jester. "And fix up that bird." He commanded somebody else.
Patrick blinked. Who were these jintori? And why were they helping?

Wolfgang grabbed his weapon and stood defensivley in front of Buskin and Inori. The last experiance with the Jintori wasn't a good one, he had no reason to trust these ones, even if they promised water... He looked behind him and saw Buskin's reaction was barley a yawn. Wolfgang was taught that creatures can sense danger, and if they are calm, then you have no reason to be distressed. He lowered his arm. "Wait, Who are you?" His voice was firm, he couldn't risk a mistake. He turned to Patrick quickly, hoping that he had the same questions.
Inori still hid behind Wolfgang and Patrick, though they didn't seem at all harmful. She was unsure what they would think of her for traveling with humans, though they seemed far different than the Jintori clans she knew, the ones the Sunahanes loathed. The clothes and jewels adorned on the one named Bonzo shocked her, the group must have been raiders or pirates of some kind, maybe theives.

The jintori called Bonzo looked around at the group of humans, then his eyes landed on Patrick. He seemed tough, intellagent... he must have been the leader. "Eh, Bonzo's the name. And don't be afraid just because we are jintori." His feathered ears twittered about. "If it weren't for all the feathers, we'd be human too!" He snapped his fingers, and a tall, tanned jintori stepped forward, holding out an odd shaped canteen to Patrick. Jester, who had been laying down, panting in the sun, stepped forward and snatched it from the jintori, snatching what water he could from it.
Bonzo smiled. "No worries, there is plenty of water. Keep it coming Kumming." He looked back over at Inori and decided to care for her himself. Perhaps she could understand them better than a couple of humans. "Hello miss. My name's Bonzo. I'm the chief of this here flock. We're rogue jintori. Seems like you're just like us. What are you doing with a couple of humans?"
Patrick quickly stood to his feet. "Leave her alone." He hissed. Bonzo looked over at him in suprise, but Patrick continued. "She isn't like you. She is one of us." The leader of the jintori smiled. "Well. I've never seen a human quite like her before... are you sure she's not jintori?" But before Patrick could answer, he just laughed. "Come on now. Take some water. Even your birds can see that we're not looking to harm you!" Patrick looked over at Jester. He was finishing up the last bit in the cantine while a thing jintori stood tending to his wounded wing.
It was true... they didn't seem too dangerous... but still... how did he know he could trust them? He looked up at the sky... still no sign of Sahara... where was she anyway?
"What? Have you no weapon? No food? No water?" He said, glancing Patrick over. "How do you expect to survive out here? Surely you humans don't eat sand?" Patrick glared at Bonzo. He was so sarcastic and free, very unlike any jintori he had ever seen before.
"We had plenty of supplies, before your kind, the jintori trapped us in the sand traps." Patrick hissed at Bonzo, who dropped his smiling face and frowned. "We are not like the pure blood jintori. We left those old ways of life." He seemed very offended, but he quickly smiled again. "We choose to live like humans! You guys have so much more fun!" He slapped Patrick on the shoulder.
"Now, here's the thing." Bonzo said, pacing back and forth. "Either you force us to leave and you die of dehydration in the sand, or you come with us back to our nests and live. We've got plenty of weapons and supplies. Think about it." Patrick looked over at the others, hoping that one of them would tell him what to do. Especially Inori...she was a jintori also. Perhaps she would know to trust them better.

Inori, ignoring Bonzo's earlier question, hesitantly stepped out from behind Wolfgang and Patrick. She smiled lightly, and nodded her head. "I think we should go with them. If they meant us harm, they would have done so already." She turned to Patrick with a definite expression that proved she was confident in her decision. She had to be.
Inori turned back to Bonzo; she found him odd, she had never seen such a care-free soul. It made her feel almost relaxed watching him, though she knew she had to remain suspicious.
"That's all fine and well, but what about Sahara?" Wolfgang knealt beside Buskin and grabbed his reigns. He didn't look at Bonzo or any of his crew. He kept his eyes on the sand. "We have to wait for her to return, she seemed hell-bent on finding those cacti though..."

Patrick nodded in agreement with Inori. He still wasn't sure.. after all that happened. But Inori was jintori, and she proved very helpful. Maybe these jintori would be too. But first thing was first.
"Where is Sahara anyway? She should have been back by now... " He turned to the others, worried. "What?" Bonzo asked. "Is there another? Human I presume? Why did she go out alone? And if she was so dehydrated as you all... well, she couldnt have been well." He turned around to the jintori clan following him.
"Kumming, You come with me." He turned back to Patrick. "We'll find her for you... shouldn't be hard. Most humans don't make it out here, and never alone. " Patrick quickly stood up. "Not without me you aren't!" He still didnt trust them, especially not when it was about Sahara. Bonzo nodded. "Alright, you come along. I believe your sabbia is good to go. Your lucky! If we had not come along, he might have gotten infection... What caused that damaged wing anyway? It is not easy to harm a sabbia."
"Sunahanes." Patrick answered. "We were trapped in the sand traps, and-" "Sunahanes? The sand traps?" Bonzo frowned. "And you made it out alive? Well then. When we get to the nests, we shall have a big celebration! Cheiza, Belut, fly ahead and prepare. The rest of you, care for the other human and the jintori girl. If you're ready sir, we will set out to find your friend."
Patrick nodded, already boarding his sabbia. 'Hang in there Sahara, we are coming.'

Inori watched Patrick get on Jester, she frowned as a few other Jintori began to prepare to leave. She felt uneasy, not sure what to do if Patrick was gone. He made her feel like she was actually normal, and the feeling that came to her when she knew he would be gone, if only for awhile, was unbearable. "I guess we'll be staying here, just in case she comes back." Wolfgang murmured, snapping Inori out of her worried daze. He gave her a questioning look, watching for her approval, which she returned with an apologetic nod. "Right." She breathed, and folded her wings over her back. "Come back soon, if you don't find her we can at least re-group and all look together." She frowned. "Be careful..."

Patrick looked at Inori and nodded. "I'll be careful." He glanced at Bonzo and his assisitant, Kumming. He was glad to have gotten help from them, but he wasn't sure if he could trust them yet. He would keep his distance. If they tried to pull a trick on him, him and Jester would be prepared. "You too." He told Inori and Wolfgang. He looked at Jester's wing. It was still wounded, but it looked like it was healing nicely, and it didn't seem to bother him anymore. Either way, he had to find Sahara.
With a click of his tongue, Jester unfurled his wings and rose into the air. Bonzo watched in amazement. "How you humans can befriend a creature amazes me." He noted, realizing that Jester wasn't JUST a trained animal. Patrick glared at him. "He is no more creature than you." Bonzo laughed. "Very clever!" Bonzo chuckled. "I may enjor your company! Lets hope this third human we are looking for is as fun as you are!" Patrick rolled his eyes. How incredibly annoying this guy was.
He flew high into the air and took off over the desert dunes, in the same direction he saw Sahara fly off in, Bonzo and Kummings flying close behind him, scanning the skies with their eagle eyes. At the same time, The two dazzlingly colored jintori, Cheiza and Belut, flew off into the north west, towards thieves pass to get ready for the arrival of the humans.

Inori watched as Patrick, Bonzo, and his other men left, two in the opposite direction. She sighed, knowing that it would most likley be a long wait. She sat down beside Buskin, and leaned comfortably against him. She looked up at Wolfgang. She had not really talked to him yet, and he didn't seem like much of a conversation starter. "Ermm.." Neither was she, apparently. "...Did you get water? You look parched." Wolfgang didn't look down at her, he scanned the horizon, watching Patrick and Bonzo leaving. He seemed suspicous of Bonzo and his men still, she could see he had little room for trust in his heart. She was avout to repeat herself, but he finally spoke. "I had some, yes. I'm just not used to the desert's heat. I took what my body needed, though." He leaned his neck to the side until it cracked, then tucked his weapon onto his heavy belt. His mouth formed into an even deeper frown.
"...What village is it you are from then? The woods somewhere?" Inori knew little of the other countries past the Marsh Lands, but she could tell that he was definatley foriegn. "I don't belong to a village anymore. But I lived in Taikai Ueki... once." "No village? Then you are like me?" Wolfgang looked at her, the burning glare in his cold steel eyes made her blink, confused. "You, who have been accept by not one, but three different races at one time in your life? No, we aren't alike." His voice became more gentle, apologetic. "...These people seem to accept us, though. I owe them a lot." His eye slightly winced in pain, and he turned his face away. He grasped his head. "A-Anyways, I know they might be gone awhile, but we should be patient and wait, you shouldn't be worried about Patrick." "...Right."

"Are you sure you weren't just...imagining your lost human?" Bonzo asked Patrick. "You would think we would have found her by now..." Patrick glared at the jintori leader. "NO I didnt IMAGINE her!" He grunted, scanning the skies above and the sands below. "I'm no idiot you know!" Bonzo cocked his head. "Really? I was always told that humans were not all that smart..." Patrick gripped the reigns tighter, just wanting to jump off of Jester and attack the stupid jintori. "Well you were told wrong." Bonzo shrugged and smiled. "Perhaps I was."
"Bonzo. I see a sabbia... A light shade of red, near the Aguased Cactus crop." Kumming said. Patrick raised a brow. First of all, he couldn't see a thing. "Crop?" Bonzo nodded. "We planted a few aguased cacti crops around the desert for lost travelers...Oh no.. What happened?" Then Patrick noticed what Bonzo had been worried about. The crop seemed smashed, as if it was done of purpose, every one of them ruined. Then he saw what Kumming was talking about, the redish colored sabbia... It was Strawberry. Jintori must have had amazing sight to spot that. "That is her sabbia! She must be down there!"
Patrick pulled back on the reigns, and Jester dove towards the sand. As soon as he got close enough to the ground, he leapt off, landed in the sand and ran towards Strawberry. "Sahara! Sahar-" She was't there. He ran up to Strawberry, sticking his hand under her feathers on her neck to feel for some sort of breathing. Thankfully, she was still breathing. Bonzo landed beside his and frowned. "Kumming... you brought water right?" The second jintori nodded. "Then give this bird water..." He seemed a bit worried.
Patrick looked around frantically. "SAHARA! SAHARA!!!" He yelled, but there was no response. As soon as Kumming brought out the water, Strawberry opened her eyes and rose out of the sand, nearly attacking the jintori for the water. Then Patrick noticed her, laying in a hole under where Strawberry was laying. The sabbia must have been protecting her from the sun. Patrick ran over to her, pulling her out of the sand. She was unconscous, but breathing.
Bonzo took a closer look at Sahara. "She doesn't look good....Kumming!" The other jintori put down the water dish meant for Strawberry and ran to Sahara, dropping beside her with a water cantine. Patrick frowned. He had seen this before, extreme dehydration... Last time, it didn't end to well. Kumming forced some water carefully down Sahara's throat, then he reached into a pocket on his tattered belt and pulled out a slightly smashed herb.
"What is that?" Patrick asked as Kumming placed the herb on Sahara's tongue. "Plaiko. We use it for healing purposes. It has a very strong flavor and can sometimes wake some one out of unconsousness." Just as he finished saying that, Sahara sat forward, coughing and spitting. "What WAS that?!" She screamed, trying to spit the flavor from her taste buds. Patrick smiled, relieved that she was going to be alright.
Sahara noticed the other jintori, but was too busy dying of thirst to care why they were there. She grabbed the canteen and drank from it, squinting her face with every drink. Finally, the canteen was emptied and she handed it back to Kumming. "I could taste that stuff with every drink..." She complained. Patrick smiled. "Sahara, this is Bonzo and Kumming.. They are rogue jintori. Don't worry, they are on our side. " He glanced over at the two jintori. "...I think."
Sahara nodded. "Thank you... But... How did you find me? And how did I get in this hole?" Bonzo glanced around. "We spotted your sabbia from the air around the aguased cactus crop. You must have loss consousness and your sabbia must have dug this hole and drug you here to save you from the heat of the sun." Patrick nodded. "She was laying over the hole... the wind must have traveled through her feathers and kept you cool. " Sahara looked over at Strawberry, feeling over whelming thankfulness for the bird. "Thank you Strawberry." The sabbia looked over at her, chirped, then continued drinking the rest of the water.
"What happened here anyway?" Bonzo asked Sahara. "To the cacti? Did you do this to them?" Sahara shook her head. "No! I came here looking for water for me and my friends... When I got here, they were all busted. " Bonzo frowned. "It must have been the pureblood jintori... they probably figured out how we were helping the humans by planting these and set out to destroy them in order to doom any survivors. Boy, you guys are lucky we came along." Patrick nodded, finally grateful. "We sure are."
"Well then, if the sabbia are ready, we can fly back to the others. They are probably waiting for you two." Sahara nodded. "Is he ok? I mean, both of them, Wolfgang and Inori... are they alright?" Patrick nodded. "They are fine... They will both be happy to see that you are alright." Bonzo smiled. "Alright! Then lets hurry back! No use wasting our time here!" He unfurled his wings and caught a gust of wind, flying upwards into the air. "Hurry up! We jintori are aweful late for getting back to our nests! And you four must come along. I promise you, you will like it."
Patrick smiled, finally starting to trust these rogue jintori. "I sure hope so."
